"Old Time Gospel Camp Meeting Hour"

by Terry Scott Taylor
Album: Knowledge

Hello friends, I'm Rev. J. J. Beverly, welcoming you to the Old Time Gospel Camp Meeting Hour. Our scriptures are taken from the book of Matthew. In Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, "Suffer little children, and forbid them not to come unto me, for of such is the kingdom of Heaven." In Matthew 18:3 our Lord says, "Except ye become little children, you shall no enter into the kingdom of Heaven." And now, here to sing their musical gospel medley number, the Old Time Gospel Camp Meeting Hour presents the Riders Of The Western Skies.

Thankyou friends, so good to be with you this evening.

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross, the emblem of suffering and shame,
And I love that old cross, where the dearest and best in a world of lost sinners was slain.

So I'll cherish the old rugged cross, 'til my trophies at last I lay down,
I will cling to the old rugged cross and exchange it someday for a crown.

Just a closer walk with thee - grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let me...

I come to the garden alone while the dew is still on the roses,
And the voice I hear falling on my ear, the son of God discloses.

And he walks with me, and he talks with me, and he tells me I am his own,
And I will cling to the old rugged cross and exchange it someday for a crown.
