I used to play Contra on my cousin Mike's Nintendo


I liked the game cause it didn't matter that my reaction time was so slow


Cause we knew a code to get unlimited lives


I thought if this was real, it sure would be nice


I could be a superhero, because of this code I know

If I lived forever, I would have so much time to spare


I like to travel, and I'd have time to go most anywhere


It would be just like Groundhog Day


I can imagine all the instruments I could play


And I'd take big risks, do anything on a dare





And just push . . .





Really though, I can't live forever


And I think that's best


This world is not my heaven


Just a temporary nest


And I know it might not make since to

But our departure from this world
